2016 Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV launched – From RM888,888

Alongside the launches of the Mercedes-Benz GLC 250 Coupe and iconic G 63 AMG, Mercedes-Benz also rolled out its flagship SUV offering, the GLS 400 4Matic.

The introduction of the latest three models completes the Mercedes-Benz SUV range offerings for the Malaysian market.

The Mercedes-Benz GLS is the facelift of the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class which was offered here in limited numbers previously. The full-fledged seven-seater GLS 400 is offered with the AMG Line exterior, comprising specific front and rear aprons, side running boards, side flaps painted in the vehicle colour and 21-inch AMG light-alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin is effortlessly stylish and generously equipped. Fine quality materials and finishes feature throughout, while standard tech ranges from new Apple CarPlay to a Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround system. Boot capacity is an impressive 2,300 litres with the third row folded down.

The new GLS 400 4Matic also includes the extended Dynamic Select transmission modes and the latest version of the Airmatic air suspension system with enhanced 'ADS' damping.

The GLS 400 4Matic is powered by a V6 direct-injected bi-turbo engine and produces an output of 333hp and 480Nm of torque from as low as 1600 rpm, the engine is mated to a nine-speed (9G-Tronic) automatic transmission powering all four wheels.

The GLS 400 is capable of a 6.6 second 0-100km/h sprint all the way to a top speed of 240km/h. The car is now equipped with start/stop function which helps it to a claimed 9.4-9.9l/100km combined economy figure.

The GLS 400 4Matic retail price starts off at RM888,888 with a four year/ unlimited mileage warranty package.
