Nissan’s sub-X-Trail crossover, the Qashqai, has just been launched its all-new second generation Qashqai in China. Prices start from RMB 139,800 (RM93,000 – excluding our local taxes of course).

Unlike the European market Qashqai (the model has since been discontinued in Japan), the Chinese market Qashqai is powered by either a naturally aspirated MR20 2.0-litre petrol engine or a turbocharged HRA2 1.2-litre petrol. Both engines are paired to an XTronic CVT.

The European market Qahqai comes with a choice of four engine options – 1.2-litre turbo petrol, 1.6-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.6-litre diesel.

The Chinese market Qashqai will be sold via Nissan’s Chinese joint venture company, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV).

Key safety features include FEB (Forward Emergency Braking), EAPM (Emergency Assist for Pedal Misapplication), AVM (Around View Monitor), MOD (Moving Object Detection), LDP (Lane Departure Prevention) and BSW (Blind Spot Warning).

Other features include ARC ATC (Active Trace Control), AEB (Active Engine Brake), Double Modes EPS (Electric Speed-Sensitive Power Steering) and IPA (Intelligent Parking Assist).

The all-new second generation Qashqai first debuted in November 2013 in London. It is built on the Renault-Nissan Alliance's Common Module Family platform architecture.
