BMW Japan has launch a limited edition model to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 3 Series with the BMW 340i 40th Anniversary Edition. Only 20 units will be offered there with a suggested retail price of ¥8,790,000 (RM291,307).

As the name suggests, it is based on the BMW 340i with a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine developing 326PS and 450Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Handling enhancements include Adaptive M suspension and M Sports brake kit.

However, the 40th Anniversary Edition receives a few changes on the exterior and interior to make it stand out beginning with a Tanzanite Blue paint finish for the body, selected from the BMW Individual personalisation program. At the front is a BMW M Performance black kidney grille while the stock wheels have been swapped out for 19-inch M light-alloy five twin-spoke wheels finished in ferric grey.

The cabin features Dakota Black leather seats, satin-aluminium window mouldings, plus additional BMW Individual touches with the piano black interior trim with pearl gloss chrome highlights, and a leather dashboard. A Harman / Kardon surround sound system handles audio playback.

About Gerard

My first impressions of a dream car should be a ridiculous top speed with physics defying cornering capabilities, namely the Ferraris, Paganis and what not. Deep down, I just want something that makes you feel special when you drive it, expensive or not.
