Mitsubishi monthly sales up 68 percent – driven by Triton surge

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia received a healthy boost in its monthly sales numbers, rising 68 percent from 696 units sold in February to 1,173 units in March 2016.

The massive surge in sales was driven primarily by increased demand for the Triton pick-up, which shifted 716 units, up 42 percent from the 429 it managed in February. With these strengthened numbers, the Triton was the second best-selling pick-up truck in Malaysia for the month of March. Click here for our full review of the Triton.

Also contributing to sales growth was the locally-assembled ASX, which saw demand rise by 22 percent from 170 units in February to 207 units in March. Click here for our full review of the ASX

Demand is also good for the newly-launched Outlander. Despite setting a modest sales target of 100 units monthly, MMM has to date collected over 300 bookings for its new seven-seater SUV. Click here for our brief review of the Outlander.
