Paris 2016: Lexus UX Concept Teased Ahead Of Unveil

Lexus will be debuting the UX Concept at the upcoming 2016 Paris Motor Show set to be held later this month.

The company has officially released a solitary teaser image showing the concept’s rear three-quarter view without providing any further concrete details.

Presumably, the concept will foreshadow a new crossover model to join Lexus’ growing portfolios of crossover currently consist of the NX and RX in addition to the GX and LX full-sized SUVs.

Development of the UX Concept was led by the company’s ED2 European Design Centre.

Visible details of the vehicle include A-pillar mounted cameras to replace the traditional side mirrors, huge wheels surrounded by chunky arches, and matte silver-finished rear bumper diffuser with dual tail pipes.

The vehicle’s overall silhouette features a rather sharply-raked roof that tapers down aggressively aft of the C-pillar. It’s not quite the BMW X4 or X6 type of profile, but it’s certainly not the traditional upright design of an SUV.

Lexus’ teaser release makes only vague mentions of what to expect, but it is safe to anticipate much in the way of connectivity technologies and advanced active driving aids.

Overseas reports also speculate on the likelihood of a hybrid powertrain being featured, which will be entirely in keeping with the company’s recent habits when showcasing concept vehicles.
