Ad Posting Rules
  1. Our policies are designed to create a safe and fair environment for everyone using Carlist.my.

    Learning what’s not allowed can help you avoid unintentionally breaking the rules and helps everyone have a great experience on the site.

    All Information

    Put all of the information about the item into the ad. Don't direct people to another website for more details. The more details you put in the ad, the likelihood of getting a quicker sale.

    Title & Description

    The ad title has to describe the item advertised, no company names, contact number or URLs are allowed. No unnecessary characters are allowed in the title.

    The item or service has to be described in the description text, it is not allowed to merely link to another page. Description texts are not allowed to be copied from other advertisers, these are protected under copyright laws.

    It's not allowed to use search words or keywords in the title and description text. Only ads in Bahasa Malaysia and English are allowed.

    Proper Categorisation

    The ad has to be placed in the category that describes the item the best (the ad will be moved to the right category when possible). Items that don’t fit in the same category must be placed in separate ads.

    Used cars and recond cars have to be placed under “Used Cars”, sambung bayar cars have to be placed under “Sambung Bayar”, new cars manufactured in the current year have to be placed under “New Cars”, new cars not manufactured in the current year have to be placed under the “Used Car” category.

    Malaysian Market

    Items sold on Carlist.my must be suitable for the Malaysian market. Sellers must have a valid Malaysia contact.

    No Multiple Items in a Single Ad

    You are required to place only one item per ad. If you have multiple items which are similar, please place them in separate ads with their own images.

    No Duplicates

    Placing ads with the same item more than once is not allowed. Please edit that ad if you want to update it or delete the old ad before you place the new one.

    Consequently, it is not allowed to place ads with the same item in different categories or locations.

    Images

    Images in the ad have to be relevant to the item advertised. Company logotypes are prohibited as images. It is not allowed to use images from other advertisers without consent. These are protected under copyright laws. Images showing models displaying underwear or bathing wear are not allowed.


    Images that are not allowed:

    • image that contains watermark of other websites or logo; or
    • image that is not relevant to the ad; or
    • image that have non-supported formats (supported formats are .jpeg, .png, .gif, and .bmp).


    Images that are not recommended:

    • small image; or
    • blurry image; or
    • image that was downloaded from Carlist.my website; or
    • image that was reused from previous ad.

    Year

    The year listed in car or bike ads have to be the year of production of the car, not the year of registration.

    Price

    The price listed in ads must be stated, has to be specific integers, and must be clear. Carlist.my reserves the right to deem ads that have unclear pricing.


    Unclear pricing include but is not limited to:

    • price ranges; or
    • price on availability; or
    • price that are not complete. For example, RM8XXXX and RM5k; or
    • non-OTR price for new cars.

    No Illegal Items

    Ads featuring items that are prohibited from sale according to Malaysian law are not allowed on Carlist.my. This is including but not limited to items like stolen items, pirated items, and counterfeit items.

    No Unrealistic Offers

    Carlist.my reserves the right to deem what ads are unrealistic and reject them.

    No Misleading Offers

    Carlist.my reserves the right to deem ads that are misleading and reject them.


    Misleading ads include but is not limited to:

    • ads with loan amount or percentage.
    • ads with down payment amount or percentage.
    • ads with interest rate amount or percentage.

    No External Links

    It is not allowed to link to another site in the ad.

    Consistency

    Ad details need to be consistent. Details mentioned in one part of the ad must be consistent in other parts of the ad. For instance, if the car price is listed as RM79,000 but is mentioned again as selling for RM82,000 in the description, this will be considered inconsistent and the ad will be rejected.

    Relevance

    Ad details need to be relevant to the advertised item. For instance, putting a Honda Civic image on a Toyota Corolla ad will cause your ad to be rejected.

    No Keyword Stuffing

    Keywords stuffing is not allowed. Keyword stuffing is defined as loading keywords in your ad title and description that is not relevant to the ad with the purpose of influencing the search results of Carlist.my.

    Comparisons like "better than xxx", "cheaper than xxx", etc. will also be considered as keyword stuffing.

    Outstanding Loan Balance & Duration of Payment

    This information is required for sambung bayar cars only.

    Deletion

    If an ad is rejected due to breaking the rules, the advertiser will be given the opportunity to change it for up to 48 hours. If no changes are done in 48 hours, the ad will be deleted from our database.

    Suspension & Termination of User Account

    Carlist.my reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account for violation of this Ad Posting Rules and/or the Terms of Service at any given time at our sole discretion without prior notice. If an account is suspended or terminated for a rules and policy violation there will be no refund.

    Carlist.my reserves the right to decide whether an ad breaks Carlist.my rules and spirit.
