Volvo XC60 2017

The second generation Volvo XC60 was launched in Malaysia in 2018 in three variants - T5 Momentum, T8 Twin Engine Inscription and T8 Twin Engine Inscription Plus. The Volvo XC60 T5 Momentum is a mild hybrid version while both the Volvo XC60 T8 Twin Engine are plug-in hybrids. The XC60 T8 is capable of an all-electric driving range of up to 45 km. The XC60 T5 receives the Momentum styling, with the exterior featuring a standard grille, black accents within the intakes, body-coloured side mirrors, dual round exhausts, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, daytime running lights and tail lights. The XC60 T5 Momentum interior features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning, leather upholstery, power adjustable front seats with memory function for driver’s seat, leather steering wheel and leather-wrapped gear lever. The XC60 T8 receives the Inscription styling, with the exterior featuring vertical, multi-slat grille, silver accents for the intakes, chrome side moldings, dual exhausts and 19-inch alloy wheels. The XC60 T8 Twin Engine Inscription interior adds on a heads-up display, Inscription leather key fob, paddle shifters, Parking Climate with cabin preconditioning and a panoramic sunroof.

Volvo XC60 2020

The Volvo XC60 received its first update in 2020 with the same variants. The XC60 T8 models’ battery received a capacity upgrade to 11.6 kWh. Some minor changes in the Volvo XC60 interior include a net pocket on the passenger tunnel console for both models and a re-designed crystal gear knob in the XC60 T8 models. 

Volvo XC60 2021

The Volvo XC60 received a second update in 2021, with the biggest change being the number of variants. The XC60 was only made available in two variants - T5 Momentum and T8 Inscription. The changes also included the rebranding of the T8 model to XC60 Recharge T8. Mild external changes for the exterior include two-tone five-split-spoke alloy wheels for the T5 Momentum. The XC60 interior colour receives an additional option of brown Linear Lime wood inlays. The XC60 Recharge T8 interior adds on multi-colour ambient lighting, powered front seat cushion extensions and rear headrest fold. 

Volvo XC60 Facelift 2022

The Volvo XC60 facelift was introduced in Malaysia at the end of 2021 and is the version that is currently sold in Malaysia today. The facelifted version introduces the change of name for the T5 Momentum variant to the Volvo XC60 B5 Momentum. The facelifted Volvo XC60 includes a restyled bumper, removed exhaust finishes and a 9-inch Android Automotive OS-based infotainment system. The XC60 B5 Momentum exterior features roof rails in black finishing, LED headlights and 19-inch wheels. The XC60 T8 Inscription adds an Inscription grille with chrome frame, chrome detailing, integrated roof rails with bright finishing and active bending lights. The newly updated infotainment system allows the XC60 to provide voice-activated Google Assistant and Volvo Car App which includes pre-set climate control, car status and door lock controls.
