All-New Lexus LS500 from RM799,000, Order Taking Starts Today

Lexus Malaysia has just announced that it has begun order-taking for their new flagship luxury sedan, the 2018 Lexus LS. Deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2018.

Debuted at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit last year, the new 2018 Lexus LS boasts a finesse design language that manifest the Lexus’ ‘yet’ philosophy, radical new design with coupe-like silhouette, yet spaciousness of a prestige sedan.

Built on an all-new Lexus global architecture for luxury vehicles called GA-L, the fifth generation Lexus LS has grown in size, but downsized in engine capacities. The LS model was known to be the limousine with V8 firepower, but with emission standards ever stricter, the big V8 has been replaced by newer and cleaner V6 engines, both in the petrol and hybrid models.

Lexus Malaysia is offering customers the three models of the all-new Lexus LS, on-the-road prices excluding insurance for Peninsular Malaysia.

  • Lexus LS500 Luxury       : RM 799,000
  • Lexus LS500 Executive  : RM 999,000
  • Lexus LS500h Executive : RM 1,459,000

The LS500 will feature the company’s latest powertrain package: 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The LS500 is already more powerful than its predecessor, pumping out 415 hp and 600 Nm, versus the V8’s 380 hp and 493 Nm. Fuel economy is expected to be lower with this new powertrain.

The LS500h meanwhile uses a newly developed Lexus Hybrid Drive system. The petrol engine is a smaller 3.5-litre V6 compared to the 5.0-litre V8 in the predecessor, while the power split device is mated to a new, unique multi stage shift device system generating a combined system output of 354 hp.

The 2018 Lexus LS will also, for the first time, offer the Lexus Safety System advanced driving assistance safety suite. Standard fitment of features include Adaptive cruise control, Pre Collision System (autonomous emergency braking) and Lane Departure Warning.

Proudly designed and manufactured at Lexus’s Tahara plant, the 2018 Lexus LS is already a big hit in Japan, with pre-orders reaching 9,500 units. That’s equivalent to 1600% higher than the sales target of 600 units a month!

The 2018 Lexus LS comes with a comprehensive warranty of five years with unlimited mileage. Bookings for the new 2018 Lexus LS can be placed at all authorised Lexus centres across Malaysia.
