Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster Confirmed

Lamborghini will build a roadster version of its Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce after the company’s CEO Stephan Winkelmann told Top Gear at the recent 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Officially, it will be known as the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV Roadster and according to Winkelmann, "We will produce a roadster version. Our dealers worldwide are now taking orders."

Like the hardtop version, the roadster will have a limited production run of just 500 examples, which is 100 less than the hardtop. Speaking of the hardtop, all 600 units of that model have already been accounted for.

Under the hood, the Aventador SV Roadster will probably pack the same 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine which develops 740hp and 690Nm of torque, which in the absence of a roof, can be heard more clearly. Expect a near-similar century sprint time to the coupé’s 2.8 second time along with more weight saving components to offset the strengthening needed with the roof removed.
