Nissan is expanding its series of Autech-modified vehicles in Japan to meet the needs of customers who want sportier models.
The models will be unified under the Autech sub-brand, starting with the unveiling of the new Nissan Serena Autech minivan.
The new brand will share a foundation of sporty driving performance with Nissan’s existing sub-brand - Nismo.
While Nismo road cars are focused purely around sports and performance, Autech will emphasize more on the aesthetics of the vehicles.
"Nissan will offer different core values through our two sub-brands, Nismo and Autech. With these sub-brands, we’ll continue offering a variety of programs to help our customers enjoy their Nissan vehicles even more,” said Takao Katagiri, president and chief executive officer of both Autech Japan and Nissan Motorsports International.
Autech-modified vehicles have until now been marketed under the Axis, Rider, Bolero and Mode Premier grade names. However, they will now be unified under the Autech brand.
