Peugeot Malaysia Plans Exciting 2017 – Peugeot 208 and 2008 Puretech Previewed

Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Peugeot vehicles in Malaysia has promised an exciting year in 2017 with no less than five new model launches in the coming year.

The first two of which have been previewed in a private media event – the Peugeot 208 B-Segment hatch and 2008 B-Segment crossover, powered for the first time by Peugeot's 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged Puretech range of engines.

The engine boasts a best in class fuel efficiency of 4.2l/100km, while still managing to produce 112PS and 205Nm of torque from as low as 1500rpm. The power plant has been awarded the engine of the year award in 2015 and 2016.

In both vehicles, the engine will be mated to an Aisin six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, which already sees duty on the Peugeot 508.

Coming off a rather quiet year, having just launched the Peugeot 408 e-THP C-segment sedan, Peugeot hopes the five new models which also include the all-new 3008 SUV, Traveller (8-seater) MPV and all-new 5008 SUV will build a steady momentum for the company in 2017.

The 208 and 2008 Puretech are expected to begin Peugeot's 2017 product offensive as early as January next year.
