The Azera, also known as the Grandeur, was Hyundai’s flagship model for the longest time- that is, until the Genesis sedan. It was repositioned to sit between the Hyundai Sonata and the Hyundai Genesis, becoming sort of middle-class among large sedans. The current generation Azera isn’t available here, but from what we see it looks a lot like a scaled up Sonata.
Hyundai has just released a pair of early renders of the new Azera, and they say that it is a radical departure from the styling of the current generation of Hyundai products while drawing on various cues from the Azeras of old. It will feature the new ‘cascading grille’ that Hyundai is rolling out in their newer products. Some of the lines look very Audi-esque, but who are we to judge until the product comes out in the metal. The all-new Azera will go on sale in Korea within the next month.
