I bought my Kia Cerato 2.0 back in 2017 by letting go of my beloved 1st car of 6 years which was a Ford Fiesta. Up till today i still think of that car which i feel comparatively from solidness of the body and how it drives is unbeatable. When i jumped into Kia Cerato was only due to a problematic car which at that point of time frequently breaks down, and coincidently i saw this Cerato at a display in a mall. No intention of buying it as i was eyeing the civic FC for almost a year after it launched. But then the sales lady kept emphasising on the fact 'value for money' and 'what you pay for a Kia, you get alot more than offered by honda'. Generally it is true, until the point i actually went to the showroom and test drove. It hit all the right points at the time as i really wanted to replace my car which i spent so much time and money fixing. Then i decided why not i just try to apply for the loan, and see how i t goes. As few days pass by i kept thinking of the possibility of getting a new car which was a class higher than the fiesta at the time, but the benefits of having a kia over a honda civic, was it worth it? Well when i received the call that my loan was approved, the sales lady mentioned that i should consider as they are offering a 17k discount, 6k of which can be used as cashback. Heck yeah, 11k goes to downpayment and 6k goes in my pocket. It was an easy decision as at the time i was low on savings and civic requires a minimum of 4k DP and a more frequent service due to turbo. Plus im not a fan of a CVT gearbox.. DRIVING IS MY PASSION, like how people likes to sing, they have intonation from high to low. Imagine singing on one tone 'aummmmmmmm', yeah cvt. Eventhough the civic had the similar heavy car feel and doors close expensively like other conti cars, and the fiesta, but somehow it wasn't strong enough to actually go for it. I'd go for the Kia, since its got a sunroof, 2 ventilated front seats and a conventional torque converter. A worry free alternative that i never regret getting over something i dreamed of for almost a year. Oh yeah, did i mention that i bought the cerato within a month of seeing and testing? Imagine 1 year engagement to marry, and meeting somebody that 1 month and u ended up marrying someone else. I did however drove my father's ford mondeo (turbo) recently. Superb car, drives great, heavy and expensive. But when i jumped back into the Kimchi, my concern of getting stuck in a jam with a turbo engine and overheating etc2 was gone. I enjoyed the worry free, light feeling yet fully equipped car that i bought unplanned. Hoping it can be one of the cars i can finish paying and be passed down to my son, or wife. The end? For now. In my experience of this car, its a good family sedan car. Own this car almost 7 years model 2.0 premium spec (Sunroof). Still operate very well, still appreciate this car. Doesn’t give me to much problem if you are well maintained and on time car service. Eventhough its a under rated for the after market value. Yet this car is a totally good car for me. RM120k++ i’ve got leather seat, sunroof, electric seat control, AC and heat on driver seat, heat for the front passenger seat, reverse camera, big lcd radio screen, interior rear view mirror auto dimmer, full size of the spare tyre, 6 airbags, etc features. Its totally value for money. Looking forward to own other kia model. Maybe if got extra cash can look forward on kia stinger gt. ? Kurang

Extremely comfortable seats, Interior full of features for its price. Engine is underpowered for its segment. NVH is good.

For a 1.6 engine, the power is quite satisfying. Becomes great with good handling and stability even on high speed. Most comfortable seat in it class.

I bought this car in 2014, have been using it for almost 6 years, and to be honest, I'm happy with my car. It has just enough power to cruise comfortably, just spacious enough for a small family to fit in, abundance of features available, a very good build quality, and you get all of this in just under RM100K. Through my experiences driving this car, it never had a major breakdown, only a few electronics glitches happened and it all solved at the service centre. However, it's not a perfect car. The 'imperfection' you noticed is about the handling. Its steering is vague, not much feel to it though with the 3 steering modes available. The automatic transmission is quite responsive but not as good as the Altis or Mazda 3. But it glides comfortably on the road with its soft suspension, and meant for a leisure drive, not for an enthusiastic driver of course. Fuel consumption is decent, the build quality is good and sturdy, and of course the design is not faded with time. Overall I'm satisfied to spend my money on this car, it has a few downsides but it still has the ability to put a smile on your face while you are driving it. Kurang
