The 2017 Ranger is Ford's answer to pick-up trucks such as the Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara, Isuzu D-Max and Toyota Hilux. Available here in six variants, the Thai-assembled Ranger line-up sports a price tag ranging from RM91,588 for the entry level 2.2 XL Manual to RM139,838 for the range topping 3.2 Wildtrak Automatic variant.
Engine options include three Duratorq turbo-diesel mills. All 2.2-litre Rangers are powered by a four-pot engine that outputs 123hp and 370Nm in the base 2.2 XL, while the unit in the other two variants are tuned to produce 158hp and 385Nm of torque. The five-cylinder 3.2-litre mill on the other hand is good for 197hp at 3,000rpm and 470Nm of torque at 1,750 to 2,500rpm. As for transmission, both engines will be accompanied with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic.
