The 2017 Nissan X-Gear is a crossover vehicle that is based on the Nissan Grand Livina MPV. It seats five occupants and comes in a five door hatchback body style. Price for the model starts at RM91,100.
It is powered by a 1.6-litre DOHC 4-cylinder engine that produces 105 PS at 5,200rpm and a maximum torque of 150Nm at 4,400rpm. To complement is powertrain, the 2016 X-Gear comes with suspension tuned for responsive handling, featuring independent MacPherson struts with stabiliser bar at the front and a torsion beam at the rear.
On the interior, steering wheel audio and MID controls are available to control the 2-DIN audio system with AUX input and capacious 7-litre glove compartment. The model also come standard with a 60/40 folding arrangement that can be folded flat to reveal the X-Gear’s 769 litres of maximal storage capacity.
For safety, dual SRS airbags are standard equipment, as is the Nissan Anti-Theft System Immobilizer. Its body is constructed with two distinct zones for passenger protection within a high strength frame and the second being special crushable zones designed to absorb the impact away from the occupants, keeping them safe in a frontal or side crash. In addition, Anti-Lock Brakes are a provided with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution.
The X-Gear’s place as a crossover means that it is built to accommodate an active lifestyle, as such it is equipped with roof rails as well as body side moulding and ‘overfenders’ to protect its side panels from uneven terrain that its extra ground clearance might incline its driver to explore.
