The Subaru BRZ is a lightweight front-engined rear wheel drive sports car that was born as a result of a collaboration between Toyota and Subaru. This partnership also spawned the Toyota 86, which is a twin brother of BRZ. Both cars are almost identical in terms of looks aside from a few minor differences and share the same powertrain. Rivals for the BRZ includes the 86 as well as the Mazda Miata. Motor Image Malaysia, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles here only offers the car with an automatic transmission with a price tag of RM229,208.
Under the hood of the 2015 Subaru BRZ is the naturally aspirated 2.0-litre FA20 horizontally opposed boxer mill that is good for 200hp at 7,000rpm and 205Nm of torque between 6,400rpm to 6,600rpm. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed torque converter type automatic transmission.
