First introduced in 1966, Toyota has sold more than 38 million units of Corolla worldwide, making it the best-selling model of all time. The 2018 Toyota Corolla Altis is the facelifted eleventh generation model with prices ranging from RM117,400 to RM134,900.
This C-segment Japanese sedan competes in one of the most competitive segment that is occupied by the likes of Honda Civic, Kia Cerato, Nissan Sylphy, and Ford Focus.
UMW Toyota Motors offers two different engines for Malaysian-market Corolla Altis. The top of the line 2.0V variant is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre 3ZR-FE inline four that outputs 145hp and 187Nm of torque, while under the hood of the other two variants is the 1.8-litre 2ZR-FE mill which is good for 139hp and 173Nm.
Both engines feature dual VVT-i technology, which not only improves performance but also fuel economy. These engines are mated to a CVT transmission with seven-virtual cogs with sequential shift function.
