More More »If your are looking a comfortable, slow family car which can go anywhere, then this is one of the sensible choice that you can make. Don't go thinking it is a Impreza and start driving like a speedster because it ain't that. Even though it has a boxer engine, it suffers a lot on the power side. Handling wise is sufficient as it has the AWD system. Ride comfort is amazing but tend to be twitchy on uneven surface. What it lacks on power is replace with usability. Being an AWD SUV, it's a go anywhere vehicle. I know as I have tested in a palm oil estate road which have lose gravel and muddy track, and the Forester came out just fine. Space wise, it is adequate. Rear passengers are comfortable especially with the large leg room and head room. But due this, luggage space wise is some what compromise. Maintenance for this is a typical Japanese car with the usual maintenance that costs RM4++ - RM5++, depending on which service center you go. Do keep the maintenance of the gearbox oil on time even though Subaru claim it will last a lifetime. The CVT gearbox is no slouch but it is not dual-clutch fast either. Rev it high and you will hear the typical CVT whinning noise in the cabin. But it is quite annoying especially when you need to overtake someone and the gearbox just keeps the engine rev very high and all you hear is the blaring engine and gearbox whinny noise. The LED headlight looks nice, but onces it break, your bank/wallet going to break as well. So try to do PPF film on the headlight as soon as you get your car. Many 2nd are still out the with warranty up to 2022. So it would be a wise choice to get those which are still under warranty by Subaru Malaysia for a peace of mind Less

More More »Been driving the vehicle for 3 year. It a good car but the parts are extremely fragile. Totally disappointed with the Car Service team and centre. For a 3 year old car with a mileage of less than 50,000 all the 4 lower arms need to replace and the steering rack need to be replace. When i complaint about the noise during the warranty period, the service centre staffs (the dealer servicing centre) just said that is the lower arm problem (part was change) but the noise was still there, did not manage to fix the problem till now my warranty has expired. I send to Subaru HQ for servicing and they ractified the noise was from the steering rack but Subaru Malaysia (warranty department) refuse to do a replacement (under warranty claim) because they claim that is out of the warranty period (even i've complained during the warranty period and i need to pay a repair cost of RM5,000 for it. So if you are thinking of buying a Subaru please read all the fine prints on the warranty terms before doing your purchase (because they will not honour it) and also please send the car back to the subaru HQ for servicing because all the servicing done by there deals is not recognise by the HQ when you need to claim for warranty parts. Please be aware that the parts are fragile and lousy for an SUV. Please think twice If you are thinking of getting a Subaru for a long term use and please be prepared that you need to pay a lot for the replacement part. -- fully and truly disappointed Subaru forester owner and user. More More »Originally targeting for XT but it has been discontinued......hence just save pocket money and go for the I-P first... Been using this since 2016 for my frequent traveling to North n south for work purposes. Nice ride in comfort, spacious leg room and perfect seating height that won't need to climb into it. Fuel consumption is perfectly good at average 6.3L/100km (@90-110km/h) and 8.3l/100km(110-130km/h) at highway. 8.7l/100km for mix urban and highway. Handling cornering and driving during the rain are most fun when AWD is working perfectly, no slip tyres (with my Michelin primacy 4 or Comfi contact 5) when going through the water clogged area even at highways. Though it's not the fastest or the most outlooking car comparing to the Mzd or CeeRVee but the handling of Subbies wins it all. The downside would be the window wind noise when exceeding 100kmh.(not on urban crusing) and how do I reduced the sound by just applying the extra sound proofing rubber strips at the door frame and patch the for mudguard with soundproof rubber sheet (easily get from Shppee) and it helps. Looking forward to next target by owning a OUTBACK in near future. Less
