While all the attention may fall around the coming all-new Triton for the moment, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has rather quietly introduced a minor update for its compact hatchback, the 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage.
Priced from RM66,124 (OTR, with insurance & GST)he compact Mirage most notably gains a new sporty front bumper (identical to the limited edition Mirage Sports version from 2013), turn signals on the wing mirrors, and a new Kenwood audio 2-DIN head unit with Bluetooth connectivity.
Also, if you take a gander over at the brand’s local website, you may also notice that the previous lower-spec GL is no longer offered – gone with it, the entry RM60k price tag.
The previous higher-spec GS commanded RM64k (without insurance & GST), and there’s no sign of any significant changes to this despite the latest update. Based on the information provided by MMM’s local website, prices for the 1.2-litre hatch have been confirmed at the RM66k mentioned.
Other GS-specific features of old have been retained, such as the 14-inch alloy wheels, digital auto air-conditioning, LCD multi-info display screen on the instrument panel, keyless entry and engine push-start button.
For performance, the Mirage will continue to rely on its 1.2-litre, three-cylinder DOHC MIVEC engine, and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) automatic. The combo outputs the same 77hp @ 6,000rpm and 100Nm of torque @ 4,000rpm.
Three body colours will be available for the updated 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage GS, being Red Metallic, Eisen Gray Mica and White Pearl.
Included in the price is Mitsubishi’s three-year warranty (or 100,000km, whichever comes first), and one year free maintenance.
