2017 Maserati Ghibli and Ghibli S Officially On Sale – From RM618,000

NAZA Italia, the official importer and distributor for Maserati in Malaysia, has introduced the facelifted Maserati Ghibli and Ghibli S, two months after its official debut at the Paris Motor Show.

Datuk Wira Haji SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, Group Executive Chairman of the NAZA World Group of Companies, comments “The 2017 Ghibli marks an important milestones for us. The Ghibli is our best seller and it is an honour for us to present to the local market the new and improved range. The Ghibli demonstrates all those values you expect from a Maserati in the high-end full-size sedan segment: class-leading Italian design and a unique Maserati driving experience - combined with affordability and usability.”

In terms of the engine, both petrol versions, the Ghibli and Ghibli S, feature the Ferrari built, twin-Turbo 3.0-litre V6 powerplant paired to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, equipped with a Start/Stop function.

The Ghibli now delivers 350hp, 20hp more than the previous model year, an increased top speed of 267 km/h. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes just 5.5 seconds. The Ghibli S, delivers a power output of 410hp and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds up to a top speed of 285 km/h.

The Ghibli shares parts of its core architecture – chassis, suspension layout, V6 engines and ZF 8-speed automatic transmission – with the Quattroporte. It is, however, 293 mm shorter and 50 kg lighter than the flagship saloon.

For the facelift, Maserati engineers focussed on improving the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) levels – with the adoption of newer material and technologies. Maserati claim class-leading refinement is offered with the new Ghibli. To further improve passenger comfort, an Air Quality Sensor is now standard equipment.

Significant changes have been made on the interior as well, the central dashboard has been redesigned to accommodate a high-resolution 8.4” screen with multi-touch technology. The infotainment system is now compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring functions. The new design also features a rotary knob to control the main functions.

A new safety package, the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is now available. The package includes Adaptive Cruise Control which works to a full stop, Blind Spot Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning with Advanced Brake Assist, and Automated Emergency Braking. An additional Surround View Camera is available in combination with the ADAS package.

Two trim levels, Luxury and Sport allow further personalization to owners – Luxury appoints the interior in Zegna Edition Silk and Premium Leather upholstery while Sports adds sports seats and a sports steering wheel with aluminium shift paddles. Two Carbon packages, one with exterior and the other with interior elements, are now available as a further upgrade for the Sport package.

The Ghibli shares parts of its core architecture – chassis, suspension layout, V6 engines and ZF 8-speed automatic transmission – with the Quattroporte. It is, however, 293 mm shorter and 50 kg lighter than the flagship Italian saloon

The 2017 Ghibli and Ghibli S are available starting from RM 618,800.00 and RM 708,800.00 respectively, including a 3-year or 60,000km service package. The price includes local duties and taxes.
