All 12 Volkswagen Beetles On Lazada Were Sold Out In Just 20 Minutes

What a time to be alive. Perhaps it's a little proof of concept, but Volkswagen's special-edition Beetles on Lazada were sold out in just 20 minutes of the offer going live. All 12 models were retailing for just RM 112,112 each from the 12th to 14th of December as part of the Lazada Online Revolution mega-sale - and rather impressively, the first Beetle was snapped up just 26 seconds after midnight on the 12th. 

Customers only had to put RM 5,000 down for a Welcome Kit on the Lazada site, which would function as a booking for the car. There were two design variants available - the "Herbie 53" classic design in Pure White and White Silver, and the "Hot Bug" in Tornado Red. It's a good step forward for e-commerce, paving the way for larger online purchases in the future.
