Home News Auto News All-Electric BMW 3 Series In The Works; Possible Frankfurt Debut All-Electric BMW 3 Series In The Works; Possible Frankfurt Debut Auto News Eric | June 29, 2017 01:47 pm BMW could be adding a new electric-powered version of the 3 Series to join the i3 in its electric vehicle lineup, according to some reports.A report by Handelsblatt, which cited company sources, claim that with the new 3 Series EV is targeted at the upcoming Tesla Model 3. The source also mentioned that the electric 3 Series could feature a range of at least 400 km, besting the Tesla's range of about 350 km.The new electric 3 Series should not be confused with the existing BMW 330e, which is essentially a plug-in hybrid variant of the regular 3 Series. The BMW 330e still uses a internal-combustion engine once battery power has depleted. A debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September is on the cards.
