All-New 2018 Toyota Harrier Deliveries Begin

UMW Toyota Motor, the authorised distributor of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia today announced that the first units of the all-new Toyota Harrier are now being delivered to customers.

Revealed at the 2017 Malaysia Auto Show last November, the Toyota Harrier is offered in two variants, both imported from Japan:

  • 2.0T Premium - RM238,000 excluding insurance
  • 2.0T Luxury - RM259,900 excluding insurance

This latest-generation Harrier also comes with a 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage. This includes availability of genuine replacement parts for this latest generation.

Powering the Harrier is a 2.0-litre direct injected twin-scroll turbine turbocharged engine that produces 231 PS and 350 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission driving the front wheels. However, no all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive variant is available.

Standard features include:

  • Triple-projector LED headlights
  • Sequential indicators
  • LED fog lamps
  • 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels
  • Nappa leather upholstery
  • Height-adjustable powered tailgate
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Power-adjustable front seats with memory

Available in a Toyota model for the first time in Malaysia, the Harrier comes with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) Package, a suite of Active Safety systems which includes Pre-Crash System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping System, Lane Departure Alert and Adaptive High-Beam System.

This is on top of the 7 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Emergency Stop Signal, Electronic Parking Brake + Auto Brake Hold, and Parking Sensors with Reverse Camera.

“We are encouraged by the response to the introduction of the all-new Toyota Harrier in Malaysia. As the earlier generations were intended only for the Japanese domestic market, we were unable to sell them officially. However, Toyota Motor Corporation has now decided to offer it outside Japan and we are among the first countries to sell it officially,” said Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.
