Bangkok 2018: Ford Ranger Raptor Price Announced, From THB 1,699,000

At the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show, Ford has finally revealed the price of the new Ranger Raptor. With a price tag of THB 1,699,000, the new Ford Ranger Raptor will be the range-topping Ranger variant, positioned above the Ranger Wildtrak.

The Ranger Raptor is powered exclusively by a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel that outputs 213 PS and 500 Nm, paired to a 10-speed automatic. For comparison, the regular Ranger XLT 2.2-litre turbodiesel outputs 160 PS and 385 Nm, while the 3.2-litre 5-cylinder turbodiesel in the Wildtrak pumps out 200 PS and 470 Nm of torque, and both transfer their power to a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission.

Powertrain aside, the Ranger Raptor also benefits from bespoke handling bits, such as the redesigned rear suspension that utilizes Fox Racing Shocks and coil springs at the rear, plus a Watts Linkage for improve rear axle control. Additionally, the track widths are now 150 mm wider than the standard Ranger.

Ford has also uprated the brakes on the Ranger with 332 mm discs all round, gripped by stronger brake calipers.

Visually, the new Ford Ranger Raptor’s hero colour is the Lightning Blue you see here, though buyers can choose Conquer Gray, Race Red, Shadow Black and Frozen White for the Ranger Raptor. A more muscular front end with an integrated bash plate plus new alloy wheels with 285-section BF Goodrich All-Terrain tyres help to differentiate the Ranger Raptor from the plebian models.

Closer to home, Sime Darby Auto Connexion has opened a registration of interest form for those keen. Seeing that the Ranger Raptor already costs nearly RM212,000 in Thailand, a sub RM200,000 pricetag for Malaysia is unlikely.
