Then there's the BMW 3 Series Edition Luxury Line Purity, identified by its satin-finished aluminium side window, air duct inserts and surrounds of the BMW kidney grille. The rear bumper cover and muffler tips are also finished in the same satin aluminium. As standard, the 3 Series Edition Luxury Line Purity comes with 17-inch light alloy wheels, also in the same satin-finished aluminium. Optionally, customers can go for the 19-inch light alloy wheels.

Inside, leather trim in a new shade of Cognag is available as an option. The interior trim strips in Fineline Light wood with accentuating strips of Pearl Gloss Chrome is offered for the first time on the 3 Series. On top of that, the sports steering wheel now comes in a high-quality version, with the dashboard featuring contrasting stitching and an updated instrument panel with additional display features.

Last but not least is the BMW 3 Series Edition M Sport Shadow. Here, the Edition M Sport Shadow gets blacked out headlights with dark tail light inserts, a black BMW kidney grille and muffler tips. There are also LED fog lights and black inserts for the lower air intake. 19-inch M light alloy wheels finished in Orbit Grey can be had as an option.

The cabin is adorned by sports seats in black leather with blue contrasting stitches, interior trim strips in Dark Aluminium Carbon with accent strips in Pearl Gloss Chrome as well as the new instrument cluster. On top of that, the Edition M Sport Shadow gets M sports suspension, M aerodynamics package, 18-inch M alloy wheels, M leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, M door sills and Driving Experience Control with SPORT+ mode.

BMW has also said that the regular 3 Series models will also receive LED fog lamps as standard equipment. Sunset Orange is a new colour that will be available on the 3 Series. For Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport variants, the dashboard will see the inclusion of a new distinctive contrasting seam. Optionally, customers can opt for Cognac leather, more interior trim strips and various alloy wheels, with sizes ranging from 17- to 19-inch.

The BMW iDrive operating system in the new 3 Series is complemented by a Control Display with touchscreen feature. For the standard Radio Professional and optional navigation system, the menu has been reworked to feature a new tile structure with animated graphics in live mode. Both the 3 Series Sedan and 3 Series Touring can be had with a new fully-digital TFT colour display, featuring individually selectable contents and graphic representation that can be selected via the Driving Experience Control switch.
