BMW Thailand Celebrates Record Five-Figure Sales In 2017

BMW Thailand is confident of a positive outlook for 2018, having racked up a record year of sales – delivering 11,030 vehicles in 2017 across its BMW and Mini brands.

BMW Thailand delivered 10,020 BMW vehicles in 2017, while MINI chalked up another 1,010 deliveries.

The figures represent a robust 43 percent growth, and the best ever year for BMW in Thailand. MINI, on the other hand, rose by a healthy 11% year-on-year.

BMW's bike division, Motorrad celebrated its sixth consecutive year of double-digit growth with 2,001 motorcycles delivered in 2017, up 10% from the previous year.

Another notable highlight of 2017 is the expansion of the PHEV vehicles sales, up by 269 percent year-on-year.

In a separate but related development, BMW is also planning to localise the assembly of its PHEV batteries in Thailand.

On a global level, BMW Group achieved the best ever annual sales with a total of 2,463,526 vehicles delivered across its BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce brands. BMW capped off 2017 with global sales of 2,088,283 BMW vehicles delivered, up by 4.2 percent and MINI added another 371,881 vehicles delivered, a growth of 3.2 percent versus 2016.
