If you can't come to us, we'll come to you. That's the idea behind mobile service outfits, and the newest such example is Cycle & Carriage with the launch of their Star Mobile program. The service comes right to your doorstep, or wherever you choose to meet them, for the ultimate ownership experience.
The vehicle that houses the Star Mobile program is a Mercedes-Benz Vito, rather fittingly, thanks to its large storage area for tools and cargo. For now there's only one unit and it caters to the Klang Valley, but as a pilot the success of this program will determine whether it rolls out to other regions in the country. In celebration of the launch of this program, Cycle & Carriage is waiving the service fee for the first three months.
In order to use this service, Mercedes-Benz owners need only book by calling their respective Cycle & Carriage service centres, or call the Star Mobile hotline directly at +603-6192 9200. From there, an appointment can be made from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday, or 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Services include scheduled maintenance service, wiper blade replacements, key battery or infrared replacements, and battery replacements all on site.
The added advantage of this service is total transparency with costs estimates as they will be provided ahead of the appointment - including itemized costs for parts and labour costs. This will allow customers to make more informed decisions on the service of their vehicles.
This is definitely a big step forward for the ownership experience as it helps a great deal with saving time on the part of the owner. Service centres have become a far sight more comfortable to spend time in these days, but being able to avoid the journey entirely and scheduling a service on-site can mean not having to take a half or full day off work just to get your car serviced.
