GIIAS 2015: Audi Debuts the S3 Sedan in Indonesia

Audi’s smallest hot sedan, the S3 Sedan, has made its Indonesian market debut at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Motor Show today, sporting a price tag of IDR 1.2 billion (RM355,925).

With thrust derived from a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 290PS and 380Nm of torque, coupled to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, and hooked up to Audi’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, the S3 sedan is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds. Since the S3 Sedan is built on Volkswagen Group's MQB platform, this is as close as one would get to a sedan-shaped version of the Volkswagen Golf R, only with 10PS more and 0.1 seconds faster to the 100km/h mark, than the 280PS Golf R hatchback we get in our market.

For its asking price, the S3 Sedan in Indonesia comes well-specified with 18-inch 5-parallel spoke S design rims, electric front sport seats, flat-bottomed S3 3-spoke leather steering with shift paddles, Audi Drive Select with an ECO function, Audi Sound System with Music Interface for external device and Juke Box with 11GB of storage capacity, and keyless entry and ignition system.
