Honda Malaysia recently hosted 40 very fortunate Honda Civic Type R owners to an exclusive night track day at the hallowed Sepang F1 Circuit.
Under the cover of darkness, these 40 Type R owners got a rare chance to unleash the full potential of their turbocharged engines and push the limits of the Type R’s chassis in a safe and controlled space. The South Track of the Sepang circuit was specially set up for (owner driven) convoy laps, while the North Circuit was gazetted for adrenaline-filled taxi laps with Honda’s driving instructors.
The Honda Civic Type R is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces a 310PS and 400 Nm of torque between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm. The highlight of the Civic Type R is its 6-speed manual transmission and genuine track-honed dynamics. All in all, the Civic Type R is a genuine performance car that one can drive daily.
Honda Malaysia has sold over 200 units (till May 2019) of the Honda Civic Type R since its launch in November 2017.
Besides all the action on the tarmac, on-ground activities such as virtual reality games, racing jacket customisation booth, kid’s playground, and even a manicure and massage service ensured there was entertainment for the whole family.
