Isuzu Malaysia Donates A Truck To DRB-Hicom University

In an effort to help automotive students of the DRB-Hicom University understand the complexities of the latest diesel engines better, Isuzu Malaysia contributed a truck to the institution.

The truck is an Isuzu ELF NPR 6-wheeler, which is powered by a 5.2 liter engine paired to a 6-speed transmission, and equipped with an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and a 5.125 final gear ratio.

The truck was handed over by Mikio Tsukui, the COO of Isuzu Malaysia to Prof. Dr. Abd Rahni bin Mat Piah, the Dean of the Post Graduate Faculty, DRB-Hicom University at a small ceremony.

According to the DRB-Hicom University, the truck will be used by students who are attending both Diploma and Degree courses to learn about the progression of the diesel engine technology in the automotive industry.

It is said that the acquisition of the truck will help the university produce graduates who are more hands-on; with greater insight and comprehension on the latest technology, which will result in technicians and engineers who are more knowledgeable and able to suit industry demands as required in the after-sales sector.

“The contribution will provide students a greater opportunity to understand Isuzu’s latest engine technology, which will in turn be impactful for the automotive after-sales sector in the long run,” said Tsukui.
