Those who are planning to visit Kuala Lumpur this weekend, please be informed that the Dataran Merdeka stretch will be closed from 6pm, 15th of July (this Friday) till midnight, 17th of July (Sunday) to make way for the Kuala Lumpur Supercar Drag Race.
The race, which is the first of its kind to be held at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, is expected to play host to more than 1500 supercars, and more than 10,000 visitors from Malaysia and around the region.
According to the organising committee chairman, Nazir Hussin Akthar Hussin, this weekend’s race will be the first leg of a total of four rounds, which are scheduled to take place on:
- 16 – 18 September 2016
- 4 – 6 November 2016
- 2 – 4 December 2016
Organised by the UMNO Youth division and the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the KL Supercar Drag Battle will see qualifying taking place from 8am on Saturday, 16 July, while the main race is set to begin at 3pm, Sunday.
Admission is free.
