Mazda 3 CKD Specifications And Tentative Price List Revealed: Introduces Hatchback Variant

Following our report on the leaked initial specifications of the coming 2015 locally-assembled (CKD) Mazda 3 SkyActiv, Bermaz has now officially released the final specifications that will be released in mid-April 2015.

Tentative prices have also been confirmed in accordance to what we reported earlier:

• Mazda 3 SkyActiv CKD Sedan Mid : RM 105,000
• Mazda 3 SkyActiv CKD Hatchback Mid+ : RM 119,000
• Mazda 3 SkyActiv CKD Sedan High : RM 125,000

In summary, the CBU Mazda 3 Sedan specs has been transferred to the CKD Mazda 3 Sedan High - with the exclusion of the sunroof and i-ELOOP. Performance for all variants of the M3 is courtesy of a SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre petrol engine, which develops 162hp @ 6,000rpm, and 210Nm of torque @ 4,000rpm when paired with a SkyActiv-DRIVE six-speed torque converter automatic  transmission.

As a bonus, you gain additional features in the form of:

• Smart City Brake System (SCBS)
• Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
• Rear Vehicle Monitoring (RVM)
• High-Beam Control System (HBC)
• Cruise control
• Auto-dimming rearview mirror
• Reverse camera
• Auto wipers
• Leather seats
• Power-assisted driver seat
• Paddle shifters
• Navigation system

The entry-level CKD Mazda 3 Sedan Mid loses out on the items mentioned above, but maintains crucial safety features including the six airbags, electronic stability control, and traction control. Interior features are still modestly equipped including the seven-inch infotainment touchscreen display.

In between the two CKD Mazda 3 sedan variants, comes the introduction of the Mazda 3 Hatchback Mid+, also locally-assembled. Specced to fit between the two sedan variants despite being priced closer to the high-spec sedan, the M3 hatch features a navigation system to the MZD Connect infotainment unit, paddle shifters, LED taillights, bi-xenon headlamps, smart keyless entry, and 18-inch alloy wheels just like the range-topping sedan.

Prices for the Mazda 3 CKD variants are also inclusive of Bermaz Motor's three-year or 60,000km free maintenance service.
