The Mercedes-AMG GT C is For Those Who Are Born to Be Wild

In their latest TV Spot in the US, Mercedes-Benz has decided to pay homage to the 'Easy Rider' film of 1969. In this modern day adaptation, the chopper is substituted for the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster, which is probably as close as you can get to the experience of riding a motorcycle without actually riding a motorcycle.

The spot stars Peter Fonda, who played the main character in the original films, as well as the iconic 'Born to Be Wild' song by Steppenwolf. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of Mercedes-AMG, and this new GT C is a very different direction on the GT model from the GT R.

While the car would make the ideal roadtrip machine, there's more to it than open road cruising. It still packs the potent turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 and a number of other features that fans of the brand have become accustomed to.
