Mitsubishi Signs MoU With Indonesian Government To Promote EVs

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indonesian Government to increase the use and availability of electric vehicles (EVs) in Indonesia.

Both Mitsubishi and the Indonesian Government will be working together to study the efficient usage of EVs in Indonesia.

To kick things off, Mitsubishi provided 10 EVs and four charging stations to the Indonesian Ministry Of Industry (MOI) and other organizations, including universities and research institutions.

Osamu Masuko, Mitsubishi Motors' Chief Executive said, "This Memorandum of Understanding is a vote of confidence by the Indonesian Government in the electric technologies of Mitsubishi Motors. At the same time, this announcement demonstrates the importance that Mitsubishi Motors places on Indonesia in our plans for future growth. We are pleased to be playing our part in helping to reduce emissions in Indonesia and in supporting its transition to a low carbon economy."

Mitsubishi opened its Bekasi plant in April, which assembles the Pajero Sport and Xpander. The Bekasi plant is capable of producing up to 160,000 vehicles annually.
