Home News Auto News Motor Expo 2016: New Volvo V40 Debuts In Thailand Motor Expo 2016: New Volvo V40 Debuts In Thailand Auto News Hans | December 02, 2016 10:50 am Volvo Car Thailand has introduced the new Volvo 40 here at the 33rd Thailand International Motor Expo 2016. Imported from Malaysia, the new V40 is equipped with Volvo’s latest design signature – the ‘Thor Hammer’ motive headlamps, something which was omitted during the last product update where the older five-cylinder engine was replaced with Volvo’s latest Drive-E engine.Since the Thai-market V40 is exported from Malaysia, it is reasonable to expect Volvo Car Malaysia to introduce the new V40 here very soon.Before you envy the Thais for getting the new V40 before us, do note that in Thailand, the V40 is only available with a single variant – the 190 hp (300 Nm) T4 variant.The V40 T5 that’s sold in Malaysia, while it has to make do with the older, pre-facelift model’s pair of headlamps, is powered by a far more powerful 245 hp Drive-E engine.
