Putrajaya has announced a nationwide MCO 3.0 that will be enforced starting May 12 - June 7, 2021. This bars any and all interstate travel excepting certain exceptions.
The decision was made after the latest National Security Council meeting, which took place earlier today. Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin however (and with some ambiguity) said that all economic sectors are allowed to operate as usual.
These measures, according to the Prime Ministers are in response to newer, and more contagious variants of the COVID-19 virus and data and science are behind Putrajaya’s latest wave of restrictions.
Additionally, the Prime Minister reportedly also announced further “special measures” of the latest MCO 3.0 for the states of Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
