New 2017 Honda City Facelift Launched In Thailand

Three years after the Honda City made its regional debut in Thailand, Honda has given its best-selling B-segment sedan a mid-life make over.

The most notable difference in the new City are its LED headlights and a pair new bumpers at the front and the rear, new chrome grille and new alloy wheels. The daytime running lights and front fog lamps are LEDs as well.

Inside, the new City features a newly-designed interior with a gun metallic-color accented console. The interior lights have also been upgraded to LEDs as well.

Mechanically, it remains the same car as the outgoing City, powered by a 1.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine paired to a CVT-type automatic transmission. A 5-speed manual is also available in Thailand.

Safety features remain the same, with the top-end models receiving six airbags including Dual SRS, i-Side Airbags, and Side Curtain Airbags; Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA); Hill Start Assist (HSA); Emergency Stop Signal (ESS); and a Multi-angle Rearview Camera.

In Thailand, the City is available in six variants.

  • SV+ CVT                         751,000 Baht
  • SV CVT                            736,000 Baht
  • V+ CVT                            689,000 Baht
  • V CVT                              649,000 Baht
  • S CVT                              589,000 Baht
  • S MT                                 550,000 Baht

As our Malaysian market Honda City models are locally-assembled at Honda's plant in Pegoh, Melaka, there will be some gap between Thailand's introduction and Malaysia's. However considering Honda's history in the past. The gap is unlikely to be be more than 6 months.
