New Honda HR-V Facelift Previewed, Launching In Q3 2018

Honda Malaysia has announced that bookings for the new HR-V facelift are now opened at all 95 Honda authorized dealers across the nation. Prices have yet to be announced, as the model will only be launched in the third quarter of this year, presumably after the introduction of Sales and Services Tax (SST) in September.

Differences between the new HR-V and pre-facelift model are very minor, limited only to the new front and rear bumper, new headlights, and grille.

Standard safety features for the new HR-V include six airbags, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and a multi-angle reverse camera.

The new HR-V will also see the introduction of a new RS variant.

Highlights of the new HR-V RS include:

  • LED headlights with LED daytime running lights
  • LED front fog lamps
  • LED tail lamps with guide lights
  • 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels
  • LaneWatch
  • RS grille
  • New front and rear bumpers
  • Dark chrome outer door handles
  • Black chrome number plate garnish
  • Sport black side sill
  • Mesh fog light garnish

The new Honda HR-V RS variant is also the first model in Honda Malaysia’s lineup to feature the new Passion Red Pearl body colour.

According to Honda Malaysia, the updated HR-V is expected to be introduced in the third quarter of 2018. Customers who place a booking no later than 31 October 2018 for the new HR-V will receive a Petronas gift card worth RM1,000.
