New York 2017: Audi R8 “Audi Sport” Edition Coupe Unveiled – Only 200 Worldwide

Audi have introduced a limited edition version of its seminal supercar, the R8, which pays tribute to the company’s motorsport arm, Audi Sport. The R8 Audi Sport Edition is limited to just 200 units and introduces some special aesthetic highlights and wears Audi’s racing colours of silver, red and black.

In addition to floret silver, matt or gloss, the selection of paint finishes also include “Mythos black” and “Ibis white”. The sideblades and exterior mirrors are finished in “Brilliant red” to produce a striking contrast.

At the front, the front splitter compliments the single-frame grille and diffuser insert, finished in black, while at the rear, trapezoidal tailpipe trims are also finished in gloss black.

The special edition wears with 20-inch forged aluminium wheels, with 245/30 front tires and 305/30 rear tires. The rims feature a 10-spoke Y-design finished in a gloss anthracite black paint.

The interior features illuminated door sill trims, made from aluminium, the inlays bear the Audi Sport label complete with the red rhombus, and the model’s exclusiveness is indicated by a numbered inscription, “1/200”.

The door trims and sports seats are finished in Nappa leather, with a color combination of black and contrasting red. The seat backrests are embossed with the R8 emblem – exclusively for the special edition model. There is also contrasting stitching in dark silver accents the steering wheel, door trims and seats.

The Audi Sport Edition of the R8 Coupé will be built in a limited production run of 200 cars, and orders can be placed worldwide beginning in May 2017.
