Petronas Will Bring The Fuel To You With Their ROVR

If you've ever had to travel to a part of Malaysia that's far from home and vastly unfamiliar, you may develop a bit of range anxiety when it comes to how much fuel you have left. This isn't as much of a problem now as we have map apps on our smartphones that will display the nearest petrol station, but there is the occasional hiccup when a highway rest stop is closed for renovation or details aren't updated if a station is closed down.

Since last year, Petronas has been rolling out a pilot program for their ROVR mobile refuelling truck. From October 2018, Petronas has delivered over 1 million litres of fuel to various commercial customers in a B2B (business to business) application. Think of it as a food truck, but for your commercial vehicle to fuel up. This is especially useful when it comes to fuelling up vehicles in inconvenient places, and can vastly improve efficiency in businesses.

The success of the program has led to Petronas rolling out more ROVR trucks for businesses, as well as planned B2C (business to consumer) applications. In a nutshell, you will soon be able to fuel up your car directly from these ROVR refuelling trucks which will be placed in high-traffic areas along our vast road network. The fuel on offer will be Primax95 with Pro-Drive - the same as you would get from the pump - in addition to the Dynamic Diesel they already supply to commercial clients.

Each ROVR truck has a capacity of either 4,000 litres or 11,000 litres for commercial customers, while the upcoming trucks for consumers will have a capacity of 3,000 litres. All trucks are guaranteed safe and certified for fuel delivery and dispensing, meeting all the health and safety requirements, and equipped with a variety of sensors to monitor and maintain operational safety.
