Proton Edar CEO, Abdul Rashid Musa said, “We expect the price of Proton vehicles to go up after implementation of the SST even though we have yet to ascertain the accurate figures as the government has yet to announce the tax mechanism,”“The calculation of the price increase (RM500 to RM1,500) was made based on the GST introduced by the previous government to replace the SST where the prices of Proton cars then were reduced by between RM500 and RM1,500."Abdul Rashid expects the range of price increase to be similar next month when the SST is reintroduced. He added that the public can purchase readily available (but limited quantities) Proton vehicles with zero-rated GST pricing and enjoy further savings this month- RM1,500 for the Saga, RM3,000 for the Persona, and RM4,000 for Iriz and Ertiga. ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
