Second Generation Lexus CT200h Could Arrive This Year

Lexus first introduced the CT200h back in 2010, subsequently giving the model a facelift in 2013.

Earlier, we believed that Lexus would replace the CT200h with an entry-level SUV. However, that may not be the case as a report from u-car claimed that development work is well on the way. The new model could make a debut this year.

A senior Toyota staff told Autovisie that the next generation Lexus CT200h will utilize the Toyota TNGA, similar to the fourth generation Toyota Prius. On top of that, the upcoming Lexus CT200h is also expected to utilize the 1.8-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine and electric motor combination from the Prius. The Prius's e-CVT is also slated to send drive to the front wheels on the new CT200h.

The outgoing Lexus CT200h utilize the third generation Toyota Prius' powertrain and Toyota's MC platform.
