Shanghai 2019: Geely Unveils Preface Concept - Previewing The Future

Geely has unveiled its latest concept model called the Preface Concept at the ongoing 2019 Shanghai Auto Show.

Built on the company’s flexible CMA platform, the Preface Concept features an evolution of Geely’s ‘Expanding Cosmos’ design language, which will be implemented in future Geely models.

According to Geely, the Preface Concept features a front grille that is wider than before, filled with black vertical lines that help to accentuate the Geely emblem. The Preface Concept also features frameless suicide doors, though this could be limited to the concept car.

Speaking of ingress and egress, the Preface’s interior features dual LCDs in place of the instrument cluster and infotainment displays, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and ergonomically designed seats.

Vice President of Geely Design Shanghai Guy Burgoyne said, “This is a continuation of Geely’s Expanding Cosmos design identity, reflecting that we have completed an orbit, but we are not simply going around again, we are sling-shooting ourselves forward, onwards to the next great challenge.”

Geely will be introducing several global-oriented models over the next two years as they implement their “global refined car development strategy”. The Preface Concept is a preview of what’s to come in the future.
