Singapore 2018: Nissan X-Trail Facelift

Tan Chong Motor Sales, the official distributor of Nissan vehicles in Singapore, has just launched the Nissan X-Trail facelift.

The 2.0-litre Nissan X-Trail is updated with a host of new features, including Intelligent Emergency Braking, which is an item under Nissan’s safety suite called Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

Intelligent Emergency Braking uses radar technology, hence 2D-emblem on grille

New features that encompass the mid-life refresh on the popular SUV include:

  • Intelligent Emergency Braking
  • Restyled front design, with new V-motion grille
  • New graphics in the tail lamp and restyled rear bumper
  • New head lamps with Adaptive Front Lighting system (AFS)
  • Two-tone 19-inch alloy wheels
  • Shark fin antenna
  • Powered tail gate with motion activation

The X-Trail continues to be powered by the direct injection 2.0-litre engine generating 144 PS and equipped with Nissan’s clever 4x4 system, which allows the driver to select front-wheel drive for better fuel efficiency, ‘Automatic’ which shuffles the front-to-rear torque split or ‘Lock’ full all-wheel drive for some challenging terrain.

Inside, a new D-shaped steering wheel is fitted, and better interior panels with double-stitching are strategically placed to improve the cabin’s quality. The new X-Trail continues to offer a third-row, with seating capacity for two. A large panoramic moonroof is also fitted as standard.

Apart from the tail gate being powered, owners can also open the tail-gate hands-free. With a motion sensor mounted below the rear bumper, users just ‘wave’ their feet to open the tail gate.

Priced at SGD 136,800 inclusive of COE, the new Nissan X-Trail is available in six colours, with the new Corona Orange being displayed here.

We do not expect the new Nissan X-Trail to be available in Malaysia so soon, as Singapore units are imported, while Malaysia units are locally assembled and require some time for suppliers and vendors to have the parts localized.
