Sportier, Safer 2018 Lexus CT200h Facelift Revealed

Lexus has taken the wraps off the updated 2018 CT200h featuring a more aggressive appearance, new interior features, as well as added safety.

On the exterior, the 2018 version of the CT200h now gets a sportier front end, comprising Lexus’ signature spindle grille with a new mesh design, a redesigned bumper, metallic grey fog light bezels, as well as "arrowhead" DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) which have been repositioned above the single-projector headlamps.

At the rear, the CT200h now comes with new LED "L"-signature shaped taillights and a redesigned back door garnish.

Also, the lower part of the rear bumper is now metallic silver and black, and reshaped to enhance the vehicle's aggressive appearance, while the rear reflector bezels have been painted metallic grey to match the fog light surrounds up front. The wheel designs are also new, ranging between 15 and 17 inches depending on variant.

Another big news is that the 2018 CT200h will offer new two-tone exterior paint schemes and new colors for the F Sport model - Lava Orange CS (Crystal Sunshine) and Heat Blue CL (Contrast Layering).

Interior updates on the other hand include a larger 10.3-inch screen which replaces the previous-generation's seven-inch display and new upholstery colour combinations (six in total).

As for the F Sport variant, changes for 2018 include a new black metallic paint, “jet” black plating on the upper and lower front grille molding, and a metallic black center lower trim garnish at the rear of the vehicle.

Inside the cabin, the F Sport boasts the Naguri ornamentation, which showcases the high level of Takumi craftsmanship.

That aside, another addition to the updated Lexus CT 200h range is the availability of the Lexus Safety System + which offers enhanced safety with the inclusion of features like the Pre-Collision System (PCS), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with steering wheel control function and Automatic High Beam (AHB) headlights. Road Sign Assist (RSA) is also available in a comprehensive safety package.

Under the hood, the 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and 60kW electric motor powertrain package stays unchanged, together with the 4.1L/100km fuel consumption reading.
