At the opening of last Sunday’s Toyota-Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup race in California, USA, Toyota replaced the usual (US market) Camry pace car with its hydrogen fuel cell powered Mirai, driven by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Best known for his roles in the Terminator movie franchise, Schwarzenegger led a field of 43 cars to start the Toyota-Save Mart 350 round of the NASCAR Sprint Cup at California’s Sonoma Raceway.

“It will be an honour to lead these fantastic athletes and champions around the raceway, and on top of it, I get to drive a car that is both powerful and green,” said Schwarzenegger ahead of the race.

The race was won by Kyle Busch’s Toyota Camry, ahead of Kurt Busch’s Chevrolet SS.
