The XC40 Will Be The Most Customisable Volvo Ever

Volvo’s has promised that its soon-to-be-revealed XC40 SUV, will be the company’s most exciting product ever, owing to dozens of exterior and interior colour combinations that offer a vibrancy and individuality that it believes the segment currently lacks.

There are no official photos of the XC40 yet, but it is heavily inspired by the 40.1 concept vehicle (main pic) which ushered in a new age of Volvo premium small cars, built around Volvo's new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform. 

Thomas Ingenlath, Chief Design Officer at Volvo Cars explains, “We wanted the XC40 to be a fresh, creative and distinctive member of the Volvo lineup, allowing its drivers to put their personality in their driveway. XC40 drivers are interested in fashion, design and popular culture, and often live in large, vibrant cities. They want a car that reflects their personality. The XC40 is that car.”

The XC40’s interior will exude a youthful yet premium feel with interior colour choices that include warm Lava Orange carpet and Oxide Red upholstery. Also on offer is a range of new interior trim finishes and materials with designs inspired by urban architecture and cartography. Natural, felt-based carpets, headliners and door inserts are claimed to deliver a modern touch.

According to Volvo, the ‘Momentum trim level is slated as the more youthful and fashion-oriented offering of the XC40 line-up, while the ‘R-Design’ and ‘Inscription’ trim levels will reflect a dynamic and more premium feel.
