Following recent reports that certain highway toll charges could soon be facing a 30% hike, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has stated that a firm decision on the matter will arrive in the coming weeks.

After the Barisan Nasional supreme council meeting, Najib had confirmed that the matter had been discussed by the cabinet, "But the details and the implementation will be made in the coming weeks," as reported by The Sun Daily.

Earlier, various reports had detailed the government’s proposed increase in toll costs between 20 sen and RM1 for 16 highways.

The Prime Minister also expressed dismay at the leaking of information concerning the matter, referring to the perpretrators as "unethical". He said, "It came out in the social media, and it was hyped up. This is very unfortunate.”

According to a statement by Public Works Minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof, he said, “The ministry will be having a discussion with highway concessionaires before any decisions are made. The ministry calls on the media to not make any speculations on the toll hikes.”

"So if I push my leg down on this lever-thing, I'll somehow go faster? Woah.". I was 10 years old, and hooked. I spent a lot of my youth sketching cars and perfecting my monthly dream garage within a daydream - occasionally interjected with a chase scene, obviously. Cars move me. Things I can't get enough of: Porsches and torque.
