Toyota introduced the updated Alphard and Vellfire duo back in December 2017 for the Japan market.Seeing that the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire come fully imported from Japan, powertrain options mirror that of the Land Of The Rising Sun.The facelifted Toyota Alphard will feature a new 3.5-litre 2GR-FKS V6 petrol engine, now delivering 300 PS and 361 Nm, a healthy 29 PS and 21 Nm increase over the pre-facelift model. Also new to the Alphard is the 8-speed automatic transmission that replaces the 6-speed unit in the predecessor. Despite the increase in output figures, the new engine sips less fuel, registering just 9.3L/100 km. As for the facelifted Toyota Vellfire, this model will soldier on with the same 2.5-litre 2AR-FE four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a CVT that sends drive to the front wheels.In terms of equipment, the facelifted Toyota Alphard and Vellfire are expected to feature these:Electric side mirrors with Blind Spot MonitoringNew 18-inch alloy wheel designReading lamp for all modelsQi Wireless ChargerSeat heater for first and second row passengersVentilated seats for first and second row for AlphardVentilated first row seats for VellfireFull Display Monitor (FDM)Rear Cross Traffic AlertFull Display Monitor (FDM), according to Toyota is a combination of a camera positioned at the rear of the vehicle and an LCD that replaces the traditional mirror. With the Full Display Monitor, Toyota wants to improve rear visibility as the camera is not obstructed by head rests or dark tints.Price wise, the facelifted Toyota Vellfire’s estimated price is RM351,000, a RM6,000 increase over the pre-facelift model.
