Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made based on the positive development of the country's vaccination rate. "In Phase 1, cycling activities and individual games that can practice 2 to 3 meters of physical distancing are allowed in the neighbourhood," he said in a statement recently. He also added that attendance at offices for the public sector has also been increased to 40 percent and is subject to the directive of the Ketua Setiausaha Negara (Chief Secretary to the Government) to increase productivity, while accounting services were also allowed to operate at 60 percent capacity. The operation of daily and public markets has also been extended from 6.00 am to 4.00 pm, subject to local authority or Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan (PBT) compliance with SOP and supervision by RELA or PBT members. In tandem, the operating hours for Controlled Fresh Market (Pasar Segar Terkawal) will be extended from 7.00 am to 2.00 pm. Ports, airports, and the logistics sector are also now allowed to operate 24 hours a day. At the same time, mine and quarry operations are also entitled to run with worker capacity of up to 60 percent subject to the Mining and Quarrying SOP. "This is to meet the needs of critical projects involving the repair and construction of roads, rural and federal roads," he said. For Phase 2, filming outside the studio is allowed with strict SOP adherence, while operating hours for business premises, including specialty stores such as petrol stations, would be allowed to operate from 6.00 am to 10.00 pm.
